I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in a rural farm community in Brown County. I have been married to my husband for 17 years. We are the parents of five boys and one girl. Our second son passed at 3 months and 1 day due to complications from a critical congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). We are a family of history buffs and love taking day trips to explore.
I always had a knack for retaining information and my friends have jokingly called me a walking encyclopedia- which is why over the years I've often been called upon to reassure them and answer new-parent questions!

As for my professional experience, I qualified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2011. I began my work supporting pregnant and nursing women as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor in 2008.
It was because of two friends of mine that I pursued training as a doula. They asked me to support them during their births and I attended a workshop to prepare. It was during that workshop when I discovered how much I love this work and wanted to become a professional doula!
I am a ProDoula Certified Labor Doula, ProDoula Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, ProDoula Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist, and Stillbirthday Certified Birth & Bereavement Doula.
